Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Rappider.

What is Rappider?
Rappider is a free, browser-based image editor. You can remove backgrounds, apply filters, crop and resize images, add text, draw, adjust colors, and colorize black-and-white photos — all without installing any software or creating an account.
Is Rappider really free?
Yes, completely free. There are no premium tiers, no paywalled features, and no subscription fees. The service is supported by Google AdSense advertising.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required. You can start editing images immediately without registering or providing any personal information.
Does Rappider store my images?
No. All standard editing operations — cropping, resizing, filters, color adjustments, text, and drawing — happen entirely inside your browser. Your images never leave your device. The only exception is when you opt into AI features that require server-side processing (background removal and colorization), and even then images are processed and not permanently stored.
What image file formats does Rappider support?
You can upload JPG, PNG, and WebP images. When downloading, you can choose between PNG (best for transparency), JPG (smallest file size for photos), and WebP (modern format with excellent compression and transparency support).
Which browsers are supported?
Rappider works in all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on both desktop and mobile. For the best experience with AI features, we recommend a recent version of Chrome or Edge, which have the fastest WebAssembly performance.
How does AI background removal work?
Rappider uses a machine learning model to detect the foreground subject in your image and separate it from the background. For standard images, this processing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — your image never leaves your device. For higher accuracy on complex images, an optional API-assisted mode is available.
How accurate is the AI colorization?
AI colorization works by predicting plausible colors based on patterns learned from millions of images. It produces convincing results for people, landscapes, and everyday objects. However, it does not know the actual historical colors of objects in old photographs — colorized images should not be treated as historically accurate color records.
Are there usage limits on AI features?
To ensure fair access and manage processing costs, AI-powered features (background removal and colorization) have a daily usage limit tracked in your browser's local storage. This limit resets daily. Standard editing tools (filters, crop, resize, color sliders, text, drawing) have no limits.
Can I use images I edit with Rappider commercially?
Rappider makes no claim to the images you create. You retain all rights to both your original images and the edited versions you produce. However, your right to use an image commercially depends on whether you own the rights to the original — Rappider cannot grant rights you do not already have.
What languages is Rappider available in?
Rappider is currently available in English, Spanish (Español), Chinese (中文), and Portuguese (Português). The interface, navigation, and homepage are fully translated. Blog content is currently available in English only.
Can I undo changes in the editor?
Yes. The editor supports multiple levels of undo and redo. Use Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo, and Ctrl+Y (or Cmd+Shift+Z) to redo. Note that the undo history is session-based — it does not persist after you close the browser tab.
How do I contact support or report a bug?
Use our contact page to send a message to the Rappider team. We read every message and respond to all legitimate inquiries. For bug reports, please include a description of what you were doing, what browser you are using, and any error messages you saw.
