About Rappider

A free, privacy-first image editor built for everyone — no account, no subscription, no compromise.

Our Mission

Rappider was built on a simple belief: powerful image editing tools should be free and accessible to everyone, regardless of budget, technical skill, or location. Professional photo editing has historically been locked behind expensive software subscriptions or steep learning curves. We think that’s wrong.

Our mission is to provide a complete, professional-grade image editing experience directly in your web browser — with zero cost, zero registration, and zero compromise on privacy. Every pixel you edit stays on your device. We don’t store your images, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t require you to create yet another account to use basic software.

What We Offer

Rappider gives you a complete toolkit for everyday image editing tasks:

  • AI Background Removal — Remove any background in seconds using machine learning. Perfect for product photos, profile pictures, and creative projects.
  • Image Filters — Over 20 Instagram-inspired filter presets, each with adjustable intensity, so you can achieve the exact look you want.
  • Crop & Resize — Precise cropping tools with aspect ratio presets for every major social media platform. Enter exact pixel dimensions or use the visual crop handles.
  • Text & Drawing — Add formatted text with custom fonts, sizes, and colors. Draw shapes, lines, and freehand annotations directly on your images.
  • Color Adjustments — Fine-grained control over brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, vibrance, highlights, and shadows using professional-grade sliders.
  • AI Colorization — Transform black and white photos into full color using AI. Restore old family photos and historical images with a single click.

Why We Built This

The modern web has extraordinary capabilities that most people never see. WebAssembly, the Canvas API, and modern JavaScript allow browsers to perform computation that would have required native applications just a decade ago. Meanwhile, AI models that once required massive server farms can now run partially or entirely in the browser.

We saw an opportunity to build something that most people thought required expensive software: a genuinely capable, AI-powered image editor that runs entirely on the client side. No servers processing your vacation photos. No privacy policy that buries “we may share your data with partners.” Just tools that work, fast, in your browser.

We also believe in accessibility. Rappider is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Portuguese, with more languages planned. Image editing is a universal need — it shouldn’t require knowing English or living in a country with easy access to expensive software.

Technology

Rappider is built on a modern, open-source technology stack designed for performance and reliability:

  • Next.js 15 — Our frontend framework provides fast page loads through static generation, efficient routing, and an excellent developer experience.
  • Fabric.js — A powerful HTML5 Canvas library that provides the foundation for our editing canvas. It handles object manipulation, selection, transformations, and rendering with smooth performance.
  • WebAssembly (WASM) — Background removal runs via an ONNX-format AI model executed in WebAssembly directly in your browser. This means real AI processing without any image leaving your device.
  • Replicate API — For high-quality AI colorization and advanced background removal, we optionally use the Replicate API to access state-of-the-art models that require more compute than a browser can provide.
  • next-intl — Internationalization support for seamless multilingual experiences without compromising performance.

The Team

Rappider is an independent project built by a small team of developers who are passionate about web technology, privacy, and making creative tools accessible to everyone. We are not a venture-backed startup optimizing for growth metrics — we’re builders who wanted a tool like this to exist and decided to create it.

The editor is free to use and supported by Google AdSense advertising, which allows us to keep the lights on while offering the service entirely without paywalls or feature limits. We believe this is a better model than charging for basic functionality that everyone should have access to.

Have feedback, feature requests, or found a bug? We’d love to hear from you. Reach out through our contact page — we read every message.
